Story : Super 8 is definitely a super movie. Why won’t it be, for whenever Steven Spielberg works on some supernatural phenomenon along with a bunch of kids, the result is a blockbuster hit such as Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and E.T.
Although here Spielberg is a producer and not the director, the movie is quite like his other alien ventures with a subtle storyline, complicated human relationships and some aliens.
The story starts when a group of children, led by Joe Lamb (played by Joel Courtney) and Alice (Elle Fanning) are shown shooting for a low budget movie being made by their friend. To shoot for a scene, Alice steals her father’s car and the kids go to the railway station at night. There they witness an accident that changes the whole course of their lives as well as the fate of their town.
The accident is intentionally caused by their biology teacher when he parks his truck on the railway tracks and a train crashes into it, spattering strange cubic structures all around. The children swear to remain silent about what they had seen but it turns out to be very difficult as weird and mysterious instances start occurring in their town.
People start to disappear and the kids suspect it has something to do with the accident on the railway tracks. When Alice is abducted, Joe and the boys finally throw caution to the wind and begin to investigate the situation. This leads them to a shocking discovery that an alien from a crashed spaceship is in their town.
With an extraterrestrial, human emotions, relationships and friendship are the core of the movie. This thriller will definitely entertain all and sundry.
